MEMORY LANE UPDATES
Memory Lane Community Café on Saturdays is now OPEN.
We have recently reopened our Saturday Café with permission from Public Health England and following government guidelines for infection control.
The Saturday Café is attended by people who live alone and are isolated in the community and we run the café for the benefit of their mental health and wellbeing.
Activities include a quiz, bingo, play your cards right and includes refreshments. The main benefit is to be involved in a community friendship group and enjoy the company of others.
We were allowed to open with a limited number of visitors and on the basis that we provide support for people with mental health issues. Our regulars were glad to return to us following long periods of isolation during lockdown, which has had an enormous effect on their mental and physical wellbeing.
Our visitors wellbeing is our priority and we continue to minimise the risk of infection by rigorous disinfection routines and weekly covid testing for all staff. We monitor our visitors wellbeing with regular temperature recording and hand sanitation.

MEMORY LANE ZOOM ROOM
For those that can't be here at the centre, we continue to have group gatherings through an online video call using the online website 'Zoom'. These meetings take place on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday morning at 11am and include so many of our favourite activities to do at the center, such as brain stimulating quizzes, bingo, singalongs and exercise classes. It also gives us time to have a chat with each member of the group and make sure that everyone is keeping safe and well! These video calls have had fantastic feedback and it is great to keep in touch with everybody. If you are interested in joining these meetings then please get in touch, everyone is welcome.
COMPANIONSHIP VISITS AT HOME
As lockdown restrictions begin to ease, our dedicated and caring staff are now offering home visits. These visits are a great way of providing our services safely in the comfort of the clients own home and provide companionship and the chance to participate in any activities that may interest them, including reminiscence activities, dominoes, arts and crafts, jigsaws, quizzes and any other interests that the client may have. We can also do shopping trips, accompany people on outings and walks, prepare meals, administer medication or help with light housework. We are so pleased to be able to bring these services to you and provide happiness and respite to carers during these difficult times. Please get in touch if you think that this service would be beneficial to you.
