MEMORY LANE CAFE
This event is managed independently by Pam and Amanda and relies on charitable donations in order to operate on a regular basis. The Café also relies heavily on assistance from volunteers as this event is purely run on a charitable basis.
The Memory Lane Café is held once a month at Yeadon Town Hall on the last Friday of every month.
The Café is designed to provide a warm, secure and comfortable environment so that people living with dementia and their carers can attend together and enjoy some quality time with live entertainment and afternoon tea.
The Café is also a wonderful opportunity to meet other people who find themselves in a caring role and this often leads to new friendships. Combating social isolation and loneliness is key to the objectives of the Café.
The nominal entry fee of £4 per person allows this event to continue and we do rely on our clients regular attendance along with their family members/carers if we are to continue to provide this service in the future. The Café also welcomes members of the public. We do hope that you will be able to support us by attending this monthly event so that you can appreciate the many benefits that this brings for people living with dementia and the enhancement it brings to their relationship with the surrounding community. We strive to educate the wider community on all aspects of mental health to eradicate prejudice and stigma that sometimes exists. The Memory Lane Café can help with this process but we need your support. If you wish to volunteer to help at the Cafe please get in touch. If you wish to help by making a donation please click on our "donate" button at the top of the page.
